  5. Drop spoonfuls of dumpling batter on top of stew. Note that dumplings will probably double in size during cooking. Cover and heat for about 15 min, and no peeking! They are like rice and need to be steamed to cook! Use a toothpick poked into densest part to test. If not cooked through after 15 min, cover and cook 5-10 min.
